All projects in our Fun Art class are age appropriate and carefully designed to meet the needs of this young age group. We do our best in connecting each project with literature by reading a book before we start the project. By creating that connection we are stimulating the process of writing and reading. In this class, your child will learn to follow directions through step by step instructions, this process of learning helps students with the development of observation, motor skills and attention span.
Children will learn the use of art materials appropriate to their age level like watercolor, crayons, acrylics and many other safe materials for “build up” projects.

We try to continue the incorporation of literature. We analyse the techniques use in the illustrations, as well the ideas of the author. Then we proceed with the development of the project, by providing step by step instructions; working on observation, attention span, and but not limited to motor skills. Then we wind up by stimulating creativity and self expression when we encourage students to add their unique details into the project. At the end we celebrate individuality by complementing each other art work. Children are natural creators and enjoy every step of the process.

Master Art (Intermediate)9 – 14 years old
The Master Art class is intended for the more serious artist. This class will introduce more complex and sophisticated techniques while using professional materials to challenge students as they continue to grow their creative skills. There are a variety of art mediums available to the students to explore and experience first hand the wonderful world of possibilities that art can provide. As also Fun Art Intermediate, we will review the selected art works done by famous artists from history and modern time. Learning from the masters is a great way to find inspiration. Each month we will focus on one medium such as, watercolor, pastel, acrylic, oil, charcoal, pencil, color pencil, markers and sculpture using materials such as paper mache, clay and wire.
The Master Art class is intended for the more serious artist. This class will introduce more complex and sophisticated techniques while using professional materials to challenge students as they continue to grow their creative skills. Other expenses not included in tuition:
- Annual registration fee of $25 and $10 for any additional family member.
- Apron $15
- Sketch pad $8
- Art portfolio $15 and $20 (not required but highly recommended). The art portfolio is ideal for keeping your children’s artwork safe and ready to display.
- Annual Art Show fee $35 includes a T-Shirt ($10 per any additional student from the same family group) due by January 30th.
* Once a year, Hands on Art for Children puts on a Gallery Display where students invite family and friends to join in celebrating their artwork.
Important notes:
- A discount of 10% will be applied to the second tuition if there are two or more students from the same household.
- New students are accepted at the beginning of a class project.
- Our classes filling up quickly, we recommend committing to a minimum of three consecutive months to guarantee your child’s place in class.
- Tuition is due the first week of every month. If tuition is not received by the 10th, a $10.00 late fee will be added to the tuition.
- Due to the nature of our art program, some of the projects will take 2 to 4 weeks to finish. In the event that a class is missed, a make up day will be offered as a private lesson for an additional $15.
Policies for holidays and other School District scheduled breaks
We follow Davis School Traditional Calendar for our School year art program. Accordingly, if there is no school, there will be no art classes. Important! Tuition will continue a flat rate. Therefore, you will not be charged extra for months that have 5 weeks and you will not be charged less for months that hold holidays and scheduled breaks.
We will also close in severe weather events.
Dropping Classes
Should you decide to drop classes, you must fill out a drop form, shortly available in our website. or email us to notify your intention. You are required to give 30 days notice and will be responsible for 30 days of tuition from the date we receive the drop form or email. Please do not simply tell your child’s teacher that you are dropping the class. We must have this drop form or email in hand before we officially drop your child from the roll and stop charging your account.
