Winter Birds by our 3-6Yrs Old class!

This is one of my favorite groups! young children come to art classes so ready to work and learn, there isn't any distraction that will remove their attention from their projects until is completly finished!!

They have painted, taken turns, cut, pasted, colored and the results were incredible.

Claude Monet - Water Lilies

Claude Monet

Alex, 9Yrs old.

Claude Monet was born on November 14, 1840, in Paris, France. He was best known as the leader of the Impressionists. Short brush strokes were characteristic of his art work. Monet liked to work outdoors and use bright beautiful colors. Monet sometimes got frustrated with his work and he will burn the unwanted paintings.

In this project we try to follow Monet strokes technics by using short brush strokes, and bright colors to catch light and reflections.

We had the opportunity this last summer to visit The Legion of Honor Art Museum, in San Francisco and to our surprise found few of the original art works of Claude Monet. Below is pic of his short strokes, It was really helpful when explaining the kids the technic we want to work on for this project.

Christmas Watercolor - Take a look!!!

Some of the students are already done! They did a great job. Patient was the key factor on this project and for kids ages between 7 and 11 years old that was a big challenge. Good Job kids.
