Painting in the Style of Jackson Pollock (Action Painting)

Splash, Splash and moving around dripping paint on a canvas was the style Jackson Pollock used to create some of his most famous art work! It was interesting that some kids didn't endorsed that process as a way of art, and I am sure, when Jackson introduced his style many people felt the same way.
The best part is that all of the kids ended participating, getting loose and enjoying action painting and now they know art can be done in many different ways. The possibilities of art are unlimited!

March 2013 - Acrylics / Exploring Georgia O'Keefe Style

Giorgia O’keefe (1887-1986) is one of America’s greatest painters. She was born in Wisconsin in 1887. At the age of twelve, Georgia’s mother signed her up for painting lessons. Georgia decided to become an artist. She wanted to create art that was personal and expressed her feelings. Later on, Georgia moved to New York to go to art school.  She began to paint flowers. She painted them big and colorful so that the busy New Yorkers would stop and take time to look at them.

Watercolor and Collage by our 3-6 Yrs old "Fun Art"

Today we worked on a really fun watercolor and collage project inspired on the book "Do you have a hat" by Eileen Spinelli. It is a cute book that talks about different famous people through history that weared hats, after reading that fascinating book these cute little peeps got to choose a style of hat for their art work; from crowns, to rain hats, to gardener and cowboy hats. What a great day in our studio!!!
